Excessively Frosty OUTSIDE!

I always like the way they describe this type of cold as "bitterly cold". Couldn't the writer for the weatherman mix it up a little, you know, like a salad?
Here are some suggestions:
Stern
Severely Cold
Kinda Fun
Excessively Frosty
Scary
Desperately wintry
Really Sexy
Penetratingly Icy!
Sadly, no matter how you write it or say it- it is DAMN COLD OUT THERE- Button UP!

A Good Samaritan Arrives - Let the 2 Hour Delays Begin!
Let the 2 hour delays begin! Along with what used to be called ( in my day) a smattering of snow. But is now called a light snow that is tapering off...
Lucky for me, this morning, a good samaritan ( my son - in- law, Eddie Johnson) shoveled the snow off my porch and driveway. I heard scraping this morning around 5 am- and just knew it was him ;-)

At about 6 or so, Rita will arrive with my grandson, Lew who will immediately be thrilled because he gets a 2-hour delay, which means he can sleep in!
This is really the first real snowfall of the season and I told anyone who would listen ( very few) that the kids would probably get a two hour delay-I spent a lot of time last winter watching for two hour delays and complete days off.
We had a bad winter last year- here's hoping we get off a little easier this year!

Today is Monday- And Man is it Cold! 13 degrees!!!!!
I have been writing for a long time- about a whole host of subjects. I find that the most talked about subject, though, when it really comes down to conversation is ( you guessed it) the weather!
Especially here, in Indiana! Why so much speculation about the weather in Indiana? That is a mystery and one we will be exploring in the many days to come.
Today was the first day that my grandson went back to school after a long winter's break- it was not an easy morning.
Since it was 13 degrees out this morning, I had to go out and make sure the car would start. That is always a challenge in Indiana.
Well, I had a challenge right away. The door would NOT open. The driver's side, I mean- so I walked over to the passenger's side, and low and behold that door opened. I thought, 'Perhaps, I can outsmart the cold weather!" So, I plugged the key into the ignition and the car took right off.
I figured if I let the car warm up for just a few minutes I would be able to open the car door.
Twenty minutes later, I confidently walked out to my car, and pulled, and pulled, and pulled on the drivers side- to no avail.
That damn car door was stuck. I knew I had to do something- so I got into the passengers side, climbed over the console ( this is not easy for a 61 year old overweight lady, with a few physical challenges!) and used my shoulder to pound against the door. It took a couple of slugs, but EUREKA! The door finally opened. Tears of joy sprang to my eyes. I would have done a happy dance, but was too exhausted to move.
I sat in the car for about five minutes, looking out the window. My dog, Betty, was looking at me from the house window. My grandson was watching SpongeBob,and didn't even know where I was- and I thought!
Goddamn! This is REALLY the first day of winter!
